Anonimo Watches Review
There are a lot of luxury watch brands out there, and even if you follow watch news regularly, it’s easy to miss newer and up-and-coming watchmakers. One of those brands that you might have missed is Anonimo watches, which are designed and manufactured in Florence, Italy.
Anonimo watches was founded in 1997 by Federico Massacesi, who formerly worked for Ferragamo. Their watches have distinctive styling and offer a nice change for the luxury watch buyer in that they make a high quality watch that is not made in Switzerland.
Anonimo watches are relatively affordable, as luxury watches go, though they’re far from inexpensive. That said, they make a fine timepiece and one that anyone would be proud to wear.

The build quality is quite good; they use stainless steel and bronze for their cases (and some have DLC coatings.) Water resistance ranges from good to exceptional, with some models in their Nautilo series rated at up to 200 meters.
The watch faces are protected with sapphire crystal, which is quite expensive to produce but is exceptionally resistant to scratching. All Anonimo watches are made in-house at the company’s factory in Florence, Italy.
All of the current models are Swiss made mechanical movements, with all of the movements in their current product line made by Sellita. As far as we know, all of the watches in the current product line feature automatic, self-winding movements.
According to the company Website, the company has several patented inventions, including a button system on their Militare watches that is completely water resistant. Many water-resistant watches caution the wearers not to use buttons underwater, but they seem to have overcome this.
The Militare line is, as the name would suggest, a series of watches with elegant but austere military-inspired styling. These models (there are currently a dozen or so) all have a custom-built chornograph module, and are available in stainless steel or bronze cases, with black, blue, or off-white faces. The crown on these watches is unusually located at 12 o’clock, which adds to the distinctive styling.
The Nautilo line is the water-themed line and these watches all feature a rotating bezel and a date complication. They’re available in stainless steel, bronze and DLC/Bronze cases.
The Epurato, which is the newest line in the family, are more of a basic, businesslike styling. These are time-only watches with more modest (50 meters) water resistance that are designed to be worn in the boardroom. Cases are available in stainless steel or bronze, and the watch faces are available in a number of colors.
There is also a “limited edition” line of watches with sailing or auto racing themes.
All of the models in the product line are limited editions, and many of them tend to sell out quickly.
As these are mechanical watches, they will likely need occasional maintenance. While there is no specific recommendation on the company’s Website, most mechanical watches will require service every five years or so to ensure that they continue to run properly. We would recommend that you contact the company for information regarding their specific recommended service schedule.
Aside from this, you will want to keep your watch away from extremes of temperature and strong magnetic fields and store them in a cool, dry place.
With proper care and occasional service, you’ll find that your watch will run well for decades to come.
The warranty offered is the industry standard. When you purchase, you’ll receive a warranty against defects and craftsmanship for two years from the date of purchase.
An interesting feature is that if you register your watch on the company Website using a USB key that is supplied with the watch, you will receive an additional year of warranty time.
As these watches are thoroughly tested at the factory prior to shipping, so defects are likely quite rare.
Anonimo watches are priced in such a way that most buyers would consider them to be expensive, though they’re not outrageously so by luxury watch standards. Currently available models are priced from $1999 to about $6000, though occasional limited edition models can run up to about $10,000 or so.
This puts the pricing in the middle of the pack for luxury watches, though Anonimo watches are certainly affordable when compared to many of the higher-priced European watch brands.
You can find them for sale at the company’s official Website and you can also find Anonimo watches in brick and mortar stores at select, company-approved retailers. These retailers will likely sell them at the company’s recommended list price, as this is standard practice among luxury watchmakers.
There are also numerous third-party companies that sell the brand online, though they will not include the company’s warranty. Some sellers, such as Amazon, warrant the watches themselves. The benefit of buying from a third party is that you will likely be able to buy them at a discount off of the retail price.
All of the company’s watches are limited editions, so be aware that no one, including the official Website, is likely to have everything in stock at one time.
If you’re looking for a quality watch with a Swiss movement and some interesting Italian design, you might want to take a look at Anonimo watches. They’re well-made, designed and built in Italy, and will offer a great looking watch that can compete with Swiss models without having to spend tens of thousands of dollars.
They come in a number of models and styles and they make models for all occasions. If you want a luxury timepiece that’s a little bit different, Anonimo watches would make a good choice.
