Designer Watch Brands and Reviews
When purchasing a luxury watch, there’s a lot of information you need to process. What features do you want? What price range suits your budget? What kind of movement do you want in your timepiece? Quartz? Pure mechanical? Automatic? A grand complication? There are many factors that go into a decision regarding what kind of designer watches to buy, and few of these decisions are easy ones. Perhaps the most complicated choice would seem to be the easiest – what brand of watch? As it happens, there are hundred of designer watch brands on the market, in a dizzying range of prices and offering tens of thousands of different models. Given that each brand has its own reputation among both watch collectors and fashion mavens, which brand you choose says as much about you as it does about the timepiece itself. You want to make a statement when you buy a designer watch, but what do you wan that statement to be? Do you want it to be that you have good taste but are economical? Do you wan to show off your sense of style? Do you want a show-stopping piece of jewelry? These are all important decisions and not ones you can make lightly.
To help simplify your purchasing decisions, we have created a series of articles with extensive reviews of many of the major designer watch brands. In each review, you will find a general description of the company and its history, an overview of their products, and details regarding the following:
Build quality – How well are the watches made? Do they use quality materials? What materials do they use? Are they water resistant, and if so, how much?
Movements – What kind of internal workings do these watches have? Quartz? Mechanical? Semi-automatic? A hybrid mechanism of some sort? Swiss made? Japanese made? Chinese?
Innovation – Does this company develop new features for watches as a whole? Are they historic or modern innovators? Are they primarily style-oriented manufacturers who don’t come up with technology on their own?
Features and Styling – What features do the company’s models offer you? Analog display? Digital display? Both? What about bands? Precious metals or gemstones? Colors? Sports models? Models suitable for evening wear? Do they offer unusual features such as moon phases, atmospheric pressure, temperature or atomic clock synchronization? We’ll cover all of those topics in detail.
Warranty – What kind of warranty does the watch include? Is it a good one? Are better warranties available for purchase?
Pricing – What do this company’s watches cost? Are they expensive? What’s the overall price range? Are they likely to appreciate in value over time?
Where to Buy Them – Where are this company’s products sold? In stores only? Online? Both? We’ll show you where to find them at a good price.
